Books for Africa
(www.booksforafrica.org)
is a non-profit organization dedicated to collecting, sorting, shipping, and distributing books to children in Africa. Located in St.Paul, MN, BFA's goal is to end the book famine in Africa. They are the largest shipper of donated books to the African continent - since 1988, Books for Africa has sent over 15 million books to 27 African countries.
They are a small organization that has made a very large impact on the availability of literacy materials in Africa, and they have received the top rating of 4 stars from Charity Navigator.org. Books for Africa partners with NGO's like Rotary Club to coordinate distribution in African communities.
You can drop off any used textbooks that you are no longer using to one of the dropboxes in Fisher Hall and around campus.

Our Reason to Relay:
We are the Cal Poly chapter of the American Medical Student Association, a group comprised of pre-medical students who hope to one day help improve the lives of the sick and injured.

Fighting cancer is a team effort. The impact we can make together is much greater than what any of us could do alone. By supporting our team, you will be a part of a life-changing event that celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer, remembers loved ones lost, and empowers all of us to fight back against a disease that takes too much.
